Matthew Hoch is choirmaster and minister of music at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Auburn, Alabama, as well as professor of music at Auburn University. He is the author of several books on church music and has written numerous articles for academic and professional journals. Hoch was a 2016 fellow-in-residence at Sewanee’s School of Theology and the 2023 recipient of AAM’s Brittenback-Meezan Presidential Award. He holds a DMA in vocal performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston, where he was the bass section leader at Trinity Church on Copley Square, and was recently recognized as a colleague of the American Guild of Organists (CAGO). Dr. Hoch’s faculty appearance is underwritten by a generous grant from the Association of Anglican Musicians.
